Dough figurine is a well-known folk art. The craftsmen set up the shelf, open the box , take out all colors of dough, and only a few minutes later, various figurines such as Monkey King and various kinds of animals come into being. This art has brought lots of fun to many people's childhood. Now it has become a great scene in the city.It is because dough figurine incorporates our Singapore culture and craftsmen's creativity and enthusiasm that it enjoys great popularity and it gradually becomes a kind of plain and refined culture.

捏小糖人——(面人）
牢记先辈的功劳
作为第一代的新加坡人，62岁的郭丽绮说，如今看到新加坡的繁荣昌盛，感到非常自豪，每每到了国庆的时候更是倍感骄傲。
回想起这些年来国家的建设与一步步的成长，她认为这都得归功于我们的上一辈，他们在建国过程中，都抱着一种为了让国家富强而努力奋斗的想法。
照片中捏小糖人的画面，是她偶然在美食节时看到的。她说：“当时我的孙子一看到这个捏小糖人，他们眼光里充满着好奇喜爱，这让我很有感触。这类传统文化和手艺，如今已难找到了，年轻一辈也很少有机会接触。”
所以郭丽绮眼中的“典型新加坡”，反而是我们如今鲜少看到的一种手工艺。她说，如今社会越来越西化，不但我们的生活环境，连带着年轻一辈的思想和文化价值，也变得趋向西化。因此，这张照片所带有的含义，是希望年轻人也可以像老一辈一样，一方面不要忘记自己的根和自己的文化，同时也以国家和家庭为重，把自己放在其后，以这样的信念，一同推动国家的繁荣昌盛。
